Weekly Startup Review: A 20-Minute Template for Founders

Planning · The Pythe team · Updated 2026-10-11

A short weekly review that keeps a startup on track: what moved, what did not, what you learned and the next three moves. Copyable template inside.

Short answer: once a week, spend 20 minutes answering four questions: what moved, what did not, what did I learn, and what are the next three moves. Then update your plan. That habit catches drift before it costs you a month.

The template

  1. Numbers: the one or two metrics that matter for your stage.
  2. Done: the moves you finished.
  3. Stuck: what did not move, and why.
  4. Learned: what customers or data told you.
  5. Next: three moves for next week.

Common mistakes

  • Listing activity instead of results.
  • Skipping the stuck part because it feels bad.
  • Not changing the plan after learning something.

Pythe runs this review with you each week from your roadmap and agent work, then suggests the next three moves.

How long should a weekly review take?

About 20 minutes. Longer usually means the plan needs simplifying.

Should I share it with investors?

A short monthly version makes a good investor update.
