Missions and hand-offs

A mission is a plan task opened as its own workspace. Most work now runs as a tracked task in HQ; playbook missions give a step-by-step canvas for planning and writing.

There are two ways to give a plan task to Pythe. Both start from Delegate on a plan task, from the hand-off dialog, or from a free-typed prompt.

In the hand-off dialog, Run as a playbook mission opens the second kind. See Tracked tasks for the first.

Starting a mission

  • From your plan. Choose Delegate on a task. The mission is tied to that task and starts with a brief built from the task’s why, steps and insight.
  • From a template. Ten starting points: Generate growth strategy, Create LinkedIn campaign, Analyse onboarding funnel, Draft investor update, Improve conversion metrics, Build feature scope, Research competitors, Plan product launch, Run founder interviews, and an open canvas (“Ask the AI cofounder anything”: no template, just thinking).
  • From a typed prompt. A free-typed mission gets a standalone mission: id, so it never attaches to or edits a plan task.

Each mission picks the most useful canvas type for the task, using the task type and its track. Product work leans to a prompt pack, Growth and Revenue to messaging, Customer to research, Team and Operations to a checklist.

The old address /roadmap/<id>/task/<task> still works. Opening it is read-only: it takes you to the task’s HQ channel and never starts another run or creates another delegation. Message text in the link is kept as an unsent draft.

Missions started from another AI app

When Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex saves a note or chat with save_note or save_chat and a mission, it appears on that mission card in Pythe, marked as saved from a connected app. See MCP: Library and memory.
