Working the plan
Today, the task list, filters, steps, blocked work, handing a task to Pytheus, logging progress in plain words, regenerating and adding more.
Updated 2026-10-13
Home: Today
Home opens on Today: the one task that moves your plan most. The rule is simple.
- The open task that most directly serves the goal you stated comes first.
- Then work already in progress.
- Then the other goal work.
- Then everything else, in plan order.
Blocked work is left out of Today and shown with what it is waiting on. Home also shows your stage ladder with progress, This week, Your team and Recent activity. You can open Today, or hand it straight to Pytheus.
Tell Pythe what happened
The box on Home takes one line about what you shipped or learned, for example “Launched the waitlist and got 40 signups”. Pythe marks matching tasks complete or in progress and adds any new work the update implies. Press Cmd+Enter to log it as progress. You can also use the same box to ask Pytheus a question.
The Plan page
- Stage rail. All seven stages. The open one is where you work.
- Track filter. Product, Growth, Revenue and so on, for when you only have an hour.
- Filters. All tracks, Priority, Blocked, AI flagged and This week, each with a count.
- Milestone card. Open one to see why it matters, the steps, effort, owner, dependencies, files the team saved for it and any chat attached to it.
- Steps. Tick them off as you go. A task in progress for more than 14 days with no step done is flagged as stale.
- Status. Mark a task in progress, blocked (with a reason) or complete.
- Dismiss. Remove a task with a reason. The reason is kept so later plans can learn from it.
Hand a task off
Every card has Delegate (or Resume if a thread is already open). It hands the task to Pytheus, a teammate or yourself, checked against what done looks like. This creates a mission or a tracked task, and moves the plan task to in progress.
Regenerate
Regenerate your plan asks what changed, with starting points like “We just raised a pre-seed round”, “We discovered a new ICP that is converting better”, “We pivoted away from B2C to B2B”, “We hired our first engineer” and “We launched and got early traction”. Completed milestones stay. Only open ones are rewritten with the new context.
Add more
Add more (also called ambitious mode) takes an idea such as “launch a referral program” or “raise a small angel round” and drafts one to three concrete milestones. You confirm which ones to add. It can be opened from a single track to focus on that track.
