Vercel and publishing websites

Connect Vercel so the websites your team builds go live in your own Vercel account or team. Every publish waits for your approval.

Vercel is connected per person through the Pythe integration on Vercel. vercel-oauth-start sends you to Vercel’s install screen and vercel-oauth-callback saves the access token for you on the server. Your Pythe session is never touched.

Connect Vercel

  1. Press Connect. In Connectors choose Vercel, or press Connect Vercel on a card in a chat. A window opens on vercel.com.
  2. Pick the account. Choose your personal account or the team the sites should live in, and add the integration.
  3. Back in Pythe. The window closes and Connectors shows the account. A run that was waiting for Vercel carries on by itself.

What publishing looks like

  • deploy_website builds the site and lists every file with its size and hash. Nothing is uploaded yet.
  • The approval card says which Vercel account the site goes to. Only the project name can be edited.
  • After you approve, the files are uploaded from the server with your token, under your team when you picked one, and the live link is posted in the chat.
  • If your Vercel connection changes between the request and your approval, nothing is published and the agent asks again.

When Vercel is not connected

The agent puts a Connect Vercel card in the chat and waits. Sites only ever publish to your own connected Vercel account, so nothing goes live until you connect.
