Needs you

Everything that waits on you, in one list: approvals, questions, connections, takeovers, reviews and failures. Resolve each one where it shows.

Updated 2026-10-13

The Now tray, the rail, the bell and the Work screen’s “Needs you” section all read one list, so they can never disagree. Each row is one thing, with its resolver in place.

Nine kinds of ask

KindWhat it meansHow you resolve it
ApprovalAn outgoing email, post or publish is waiting for your OK.Approve, edit or reject on the card.
QuestionA run asked something and cannot go on without the answer.Type the answer. The run resumes.
ConnectA run needs an app connected.Press Connect on the card, sign in, and the run carries on.
TakeoverA run is stuck at a screen only you can get past, such as a code sent to your phone.Take the screen, do the step, give it back.
ReviewA tracked task’s work passed its check and waits for you.Approve it or request changes.
FailedA run did not finish.Retry it, carry it on, or dismiss it.
No fileA run ended without the file it was asked for.Retry, carry on, or dismiss.
Out of stepsA run used up its steps before it was done.Carry it on or dismiss.
PartialA run made some of what you asked for.Carry it on or dismiss.

How the list behaves

  • A run parked on an approval, a connection or the screen is listed once, as that ask. Each such row can also be stopped.
  • A finished run that did not come out well stays in the list until you retry it, carry it on or dismiss it, and for at most three days.
  • Alerts: turn on browser notifications and email alerts in Team to hear about new items when the app is closed. See Alerts and email.

Where it shows

  • In HQ, the Now rail lists the first three with a count and “+n more”, and opens the tray on the one you press.
  • On Work, the Needs you section lists everything, and ?filter=needs shows only that.
  • On Home, approvals waiting for you head the This week list.
  • In the sidebar, the HQ item carries a count badge of approvals and questions waiting.
