Watching the work and taking over

Watch shows what an agent is doing: Activity, Screen and Files. Base gets screenshots, Premium gets the live desktop and can take it over when the agent is stuck.

Updated 2026-10-13

Open Watch from Work, from a run card, or from any page. It shows whoever is working, and works as a side panel in HQ or a sheet elsewhere.

TabWhat you see
ActivityThe agent’s steps as they happen: commands, files, pages, searches.
ScreenThe computer’s screen. See below.
FilesWhat it has made, in both folders.

The computer panel in Team uses the tabs Terminal, Files and Screen, with the compute used this month.

What the screen shows, by plan

PlanScreen
FreeNot available. You still see Activity and Files.
BaseA screenshot every few seconds while a run is live: every 4 seconds, slowing to every 10 after a quiet minute. A picture stops being requested when nothing is running or the panel cannot be seen.
PremiumThe live desktop. Press Watch live to open it.

Picture-in-picture

While an agent’s computer is running, a small picture-in-picture of its screen floats over the Pythe chat. On the canvas, a Computer card shows the same screen. They all use the same component, so what you see is consistent.

Taking over

Sometimes a run gets stuck at a screen only you can get past, such as a code sent to your phone. The agent parks and asks. You then:

  1. Press Take the screen. The agent is paused.
  2. Do what is needed. The live desktop answers your keyboard and mouse.
  3. Optionally tell the agent what you did, then choose Give it back. It carries on.

Your turn at the screen has a time limit, and the server hands it back when it ends. You can also offer yourself the screen with a quiet button while the agent works, on plans that allow it. Taking over is a Premium feature.
